I do feel that celibacy has a place in the awakening story, I have also come the understanding that the opposite is also true. A paradox if you will.
Throughout history and still today we see monks and nuns of all faiths practicing celibacy. From Catholicism to Buddhism it is a staple of their doctrines. They have or can reach heights of ecstasy and joy through spiritual practice like very few others. They have become masters of their energy and vibration. They can know and feel the pure clear light of being or that is a product of their solitary practices.
I was reminded a story, I am not sure of the origin. I heard it originally as you can go sit in a cave and become enlightened but to become enlightened in the full chaos of being human is badass. Paraphrased, clearly.
You’re not having a spiritual experience, you are spirit. You are a spirit having a human experience is another great reflection.

If we are here to fully experience being human and dive into all mental, emotional and physical occurrences then celibacy is a denial of part of the human experience. I’m not saying to be completely wild. I’m saying bring your spiritual awareness and awakenings into your human experiences. Practice your spiritual learning in your daily life. Bring those awakenings into all aspects of life and see how life shifts.
I truly feel we are not here to deny anything. Moderation, of course. Reflecting, absolutely. Looking at our beliefs, looking at our shadows, yes please! Checking our motivations and patterns. These are the things that help us become a tabula rasa, whole within ourselves, getting in touch with our own true nature, returning to a natural state.
I am by no means an expert in the practice of presence and the now moment. I often feel, after the situation that I was out of my body. I haven’t fully been able to bring myself back while it is happening. I am great at it when I’m creating or one-on-one. It takes practice for me. I have been closing the gap between realizing I’m out of body and actually being out of body. It feels like what I can only describe as channeling or dissociation. Opening a file box and getting stuck in the energy of the box.
This article has transformed from the original intent, as so many of my articles do, I never know where I will end up.
I am an energy junkie, and I do feel like I’m sailing through the dimensions accessing file boxes from everywhere. It will be amazing to be able to sort through energy in a more efficient way. I often get taken away by all the different energy, and when that happens all kinds of things are coming out of my mouth as I’m sorting through it.
This has been and interesting reflection, realization. Now, to put these into practice. I do feel that can be done in the midst of life, and not hidden away in solitude. I definitely like the isolation to process, but I also realize that living life in community serves to strengthen our human experience. One person can be an amazing teacher and so can our authentic real connection with like-minded community.
