In Irish mythology, Samhain (like Bealtaine) was a time when the ‘doorways’ to the Otherworld opened, allowing supernatural beings and the souls of the dead to come into our world; while Bealtaine was a summer festival for the living, Samhain “was essentially a festival for the dead”.

While these two events are commonly referred to as the same celebration, Halloween and Samhain are actually not the same and are considered to be miles apart in their traditions and practices.
Samhain is a Celtic festival that marks the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. It’s celebrated with a variety of traditions, including:
Bonfires
A central tradition of Samhain, the fire symbolizes the start of winter. Some people commune with their loved ones through the fire.
Honoring ancestors
Families set places at the table and light candles to welcome the spirits of the deceased. A “dumb supper,” where the meal is eaten in silence, is another way to honor ancestors.
Carving pumpkins or turnips
In ancient Celtic times, people would carve faces into turnips to scare away evil spirits. Today, pumpkin carving is a tradition that has its roots in Samhain.
Divination
People would use methods like apple bobbing, scrying, and tarot reading to gain insight into the coming year.

I realized yesterday that I needed to write an article to keep the commitment i made to myself. I also realized that it was Samhain and Halloween and that i indeed needed to add some astrology or a reading.
It has been a busy couple of weeks since the end of September with markets. I am very grateful to have met a few people in my life currently who are motivating me to be more of who I am. I’m truly grateful for my family of choice. Of course, my biological family has also been very supportive of what I’m doing as well. I love you all very much.
Happy Samhain!
Energy Reading for November

XIV Orbron – Get out of your head and get your feet on the ground. Connect with your physical body in order to ground and accomplish all the amazing wishes you have. Connecting with your inner wisdom will require you to be fully rooted in this world. Only then can you rise to the amazing heights of your current incarnation.
XXVII Asclepius – This is your journey. Only you can decide what is right for you. Dig deep into your beliefs and figure out if it they are, in fact, true for you. We have been told many things from many people over the years. Is it true? You are here to transform your reality, and it begins with making choices that feel good to you. Honor your feelings about beliefs. If it doesn’t feel true for you or right anymore, make a new choice. You can do that.
Neutrality (Sirius) – Be honest with yourself. Take one step at a time and create changes that feel good for you. Patience is a virtue. Be gentle with yourself and others as you make new choices to begin something new. It’s time to let go of any expectations you or others have put on you. It’s your journey, and you get to make the choices. Harm to none, including self.
Multidimensionality (Pleiades) – Humanity, including you, is expanding awareness and wakefulness. We are becoming aware that we are more than this human body we have been given to experience earth. We are ascending, but more than that, we are descending into human form. Bringing the energy we are in our natural state beyond time and space to this planet, this existence, this grand learning opportunity.
Yemoja-The Goddess of All That Flows – Yemoja is caring and nurturing and yet fiercely protective and strong. She is the queen of the ocean, the rulernof the subconscious and the creative force that helps us transform into the works of art that we are. She is the energy that brings new life into the world. The birth after the transformation or integration time. What is calling you to be born? What projects, courses, and what new ways of expressing yourself want to be seen?
Sappho-The Poetess – What aspects of your innate feminine energy are calling? Man or woman, we all carry equal parts of masculine and feminine energy. Stillness, nurturing, creativity, receiving? Question yourself, dig deep to see and ask yourself. Sappho was a great poet who gathered and shared with many women. Heal thyself, but ask for assistance if you need it. That is true strength, power, and wisdom. Call on your tribe, allow them the honor of supporting you.
I can’t help but feel that this energy is calling us to prepare. Preparing for the great awakening, a call to embody our essence, be firmly planted in our own energy. Be ready. Be compassionate and nurturing to ourselves so our cups can overflow. So we will be prepared to give what overflows to others in need of what we have. What does it mean to you?
