At the winter solstice the Sun travels the shortest path through the sky, and that day therefore has the least daylight and the longest night. (See also solstice.) When the winter solstice happens in the Northern Hemisphere, the North Pole is tilted about 23.4° (23°27′) away from the Sun. Solstices are especially notable, as they mark the longest and shortest days of the year. In essence, they signify how life on Earth changes in connection to the Sun and how our seasons shape our world. For many people, the words equinox and solstice pop up and bring back memories of childhood science classes.
Many cultures, religions and spiritual traditions have honored the winter solstice. Often, this time of greatest darkness has encouraged humanity to gather amongst loved ones and celebrate the rebirth and return to the light. That is most notably found in many ancient religions and can be seen in festivals and holidays such as Christmas — which was originally based on Pagan traditions (not the birth of Jesus Christ, as many scholars will correctly point out). Feasts focusing upon gratitude and the offering of gifts have been celebrated for thousands of years. In fact, some are: Alban Arthan (Druidic), the Feast of Juul (Scandanavian), Dongzhi Winter Solstice Festival (Chinese) and Saturnalia (Roman). So, no, this isn’t a recent human development. You are a part of a long lineage of ancestors from all over the world who have celebrated at this same exact time.

21 Shadow Treasures (I face my shadow with excitement, knowing there are treasures to be found.) Sifting through the trauma of our lives can be overwhelming. There are fantastic gems to be found about who we are. Why we do things, what we can do to change those habits if we want to. There is a wealth of knowledge and assistance out there at this time. All we need to do is ask. Find someone who will listen and possibly guide you through. It is not easy. It may be to much at times but it definitely is worth every penny and moment you put in, to become the best you possible. Your future self will thank you. Discover who you are on the other side of your shadow and the treasures that lie within your path.
19 Healing Grief ( I have suffered a great loss. I feel shattered and lost. I am gentle with myself as I process this loss. I comfort myself knowing there is light beyond the darkness) This loss can be a person, a job, an ending, the old you. It doesn’t need to be the death of a loved one. Grief is a delicate emotion to navigate through. You may need to seek someone who is a professional or you may know exactly what you need or a friend can assist through this difficult time. Grief comes in many different ways for each person. How we cope with grief is also very different. Find what works for you and honor that process. You may discover something that helps you and maybe others in the future. Have the courage to discover what will help you.
10 Responsibility (I take responsibility for my actions and my life. I learn from my mistakes. I continue to improve myself everyday) Taking responsibility also includes being completely honest with yourself. If you can’t be honest with others you will never be able to be honest with yourself and take responsibility for your life. Seems a bit harsh, but it’s the truth. Honesty is a game changer. It brings a whole new level of depth to yourself and your understanding of who you are. It does cost anything but a pause and a reflection. You may like to share with a trusted friend to have another perspective, but it isn’t necessary always. You can question yourself and your motives to get to the honesty yourself. Take the time to question yourself. It will lead you down the path of awareness and responsibility for you.
25 Cellular Healing Doing all this healing work will require some in depth clearing of cellular memory. Cleansing of old patterns and cycles, ancestral and family lineages. Take the time, imagine white or golden light filling your body, surrounding all of your cells, clearing away all that is no longer necessary for your highest good. Light a candle, put on some music, set your intention, burn some incense. Do all of them or what you are guided to do at the time. Take some you time and clear out the stagnant or no longer necessary energy from your cells, your DNA, your nervous system. You are in control set your intention and let the energy go that you don’t need. You can also include your friends, family, or ancestors as well. It can be simple or elaborate. A ceremony or ritual or simply asking for the energy to go. This can be as long or short as you wish.
5 Alignment Powerful shifts are happening during this time. Shifting can cause some chaos and confusion in our lives. Changing from one thing to another is often a difficult situation to navigate. It doesn’t have to be chaos and confusion but it can be sometimes. Shifts can come with such grace and ease we can often overlook that change has happened. We can miss the magic altogether. Alignment with life, what is meant to be can be beautiful magic. All the things you do to make your life better and more joyful bring you closer to alignment with who you really are.
Wow! There is such powerful messages and healing to be found with The Shaman’s Oracle. I will simply write the card messages here. I had forgotten how amazing these cards are.
The Companion “I am the companion of your journeying. I set your feet upon the path between the worlds and help steer your course to the places where truth may be found. I am both guide and guardian, making sure you do not stray too far from the path, or visit those who may be unfriendly or unwilling to help. By remaining at my side you will find truth and guidance from the spirits. Think of me always as your friend, one who shares in your search for truth and walks at your side wherever the journey may take you.”
Spirit of Healing “I am the Spirit of Healing. I present ways of alleviating the many factors that cause sickness in both body and mind. If you are suffering, stand with me. With my help you may grow strong again and throw off the darkness that has overshadowed your life. I will hold your wounded spirit gently in my hands and breathe upon it with the breath of healing. Restored your spirit will return to your body, filled with strength and purpose.”
Spirit of Love “I am the Spirit of Love. I surround you at every moment of your life and touch every aspect of your being. I can guide you, transform you, turn your life upside-down. I permeate everything around you and I enable you to relate more positively to the life you live, to those who share it with you, and to the greater forces with which you interact. I am abstract and personal, distant and direct. My power is everywhere and transcends everything it touches.”
The new moon phase is a more introspective time and represents new beginnings as we plant seeds for the future. It’s a good time to set clear intentions for the month ahead, clarify your goals, start new projects, and acknowledge your growth since the previous new moon. A new lunar phase begins with the appearance of a new moon. The energy most associated with this phase is that of starting fresh. If you performed the full moon ceremony, your heart chakra is aligned and open for a new beginning. From a spiritual standpoint, the new moon is the perfect time to start a new project.

Balance (I bring a state of perfect harmony into my world, and I do it without judgement.) Judgement is not only directed at others, it is also the way you treat yourself. It’s the dialog in your head too. I lived on an island for 10 months. The town was called Sointula, meaning a place of harmony. It is a beautiful and magical place. I was crying on the way to my campsite saying to myself, “I’m staying.” It was definitely a time that brought more balance and harmony to my being. Take a look at the words below under Peace. Say them to yourself a few times and see how it feels when you make that statement out loud. You will be balanced, at peace and in alignment even if it is only for a few moments. You will be able to slowly expand that state over time, with practice.
Peace (I am a being of love and I release all negative energy.) I really did feel the need to alter the energy of what it written on this card. “I let go of all negative, detrimental or malicious energy that is in my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies that is no longer for my highest good.” Whew! That’s much better! How does that feel? Feel the difference in your body? Say it to yourself. A few times, allow the energy to work its way out. If it’s not for your highest good or it doesn’t belong to you then you don’t need it. This energy is not there to teach you anything, it’s not karmic, it just not necessary any longer. It’s stagnant energy that is keeping you from your peace and your natural state of being.
Starseed Gateway Opening and expanding into multidimensional reality. This is a Sirian symbol. It is the beginning of personal expansion into greater energy and a larger view of who you are and why you are here. A reminder to look ahead into a bigger picture of humanity, the universe and who you can become while here on this planet, in this reality, in this human vessel. Your soul is so much more than society has lead you to believe. Come out from the thick dense energy of your life, trauma and reality and see beyond.
Multiple Pathways There is not only one way to climb up a mountain. Meaning, there are multiple pathways, philosophies, religions that will all bring you to your soul. This is a Pleiadian symbol. It speaks of opening and allowing the Omniest perspective to take you to your own personal freedom. (Omniest – the respect and recognition that all religions can lead you to internal truth or soul or God) All paths lead you to God, the only person wasting time is the one running around telling everyone they are wrong.
Transmutation The Alchemist is able to shift things from one form to another. Whether it is base metal to gold or shifting themselves from one state to another. This is a Vega/Alterian symbol. “Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.” Albert Einstein This is definitely a statement for contemplation. To roll around and see what pops out of looking at all the aspects of the statement.
22 loving all that is This card speaks of not arguing with reality. To see the beauty in yourself, your situation and others in their glory. It doesn’t mean you need to stay in the situation or feeling. The card is asking you to see it, what ever “it” is. To explore the physical, mental, or emotional aspects may be and come to a conclusion. To change it if needed, or accept it if it is pleasing. To know all things are temporary including yourself, others and your feelings. Coming to a place of seeing “it is what it is, cause it can’t be anything else” is the most powerful place you can be.
68 drop into your heart Check in with your heart, but take your mind with you. This is the ultimate balance and also the longest journey on this spiritual path. Coming down from the mental energy, and feeling the softness of your heart. Mental energy is masculine energy and feelings are the feminine energy. To be balanced is to experience compassion in all it’s glory. To be able to stop and check in with what compassion would say or do is part of the path. Knowing you have arrived is not needing to stop and check, simply operating from compassion is a totally different place. The place of love. The stop becomes less and less over time as we practice kindness, compassion and love for ourselves and others. It definitely changes the way we experience life. The balance of our own masculine and feminine energy. The ultimate balance.
Happy Holiday to everyone and I hope you have enjoyed this reading.
