As we quickly approach the full moon this month on December 29th at 7:28 pm Pacific Time, it is definitely a great time to reflect on 2020.
A full moon is always an amazing time to look back on life from the previous month and beyond. It is a time to evaluate what has “worked” and what has not. A time to look at the things we would like to change and the things to “let go” of. We have the power within us to do so, if we have the awareness of how the things we do make us feel. If we recognize the feeling we can decide if we would like to continue to experience that or make a change to something different.
It is a great time to spend a little time checking in with yourself. A list may help. A pen and paper and some good old fashioned time spent. A time to reflect on past challenges, and personal accomplishments. A time to celebrate how much change you have experienced and what exciting new adventures you may be feeling like honoring.
Change is not always easy for many. It is an honoring of your personal ebb and flow, it is a balance of allowing and taking action, there is an element of trusting and patience. Change can be beautiful, it can be scary and a struggle or it can be gentle and flowing. I have found that if we are forcing or struggling it is a time to rest and relax and allow while still slowly taking baby steps towards our goal. (enjoying and seeing the journey)There is no wrong way to do it for you. Each of us will have our own process in how we honor and trust and take action while still allowing and being patient as life unfolds.
I’m not one for big elaborate things. I, as well as you can have a ceremony or ritual for this full moon and any other. Whether it is 5 seconds, 5 minutes or 5 hours long. It is completely up to you. You get to choose.
This has been a unique year of change. Some have experienced much pain and suffering and many have had a very expansive year. There has been a lot of realization and transformation for both. It has been a good year to understand the importance of changing and going with the flow. If you have made it through, smile. You have another day to transform your life. What ever that may look like for you. Because when it comes right down to it, you will need to be in a personal place that will bring you peace, kindness and compassion so that you can authentically, transparently and genuinely offer those things to those around you.
